Taylor Reynolds Completes 50 Free at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -- Senior Taylor Reynolds (St. Louis, Mo./Webster Groves) began her 2013 NCAA Championships Thursday morning with the 50-yard freestyle, the first of two events for the Wildcat in her second-career NCAA meet.
Reynolds swam a 22.47 in her heat to finish 22nd overall after the morning, just eight one-hundredths of a second away from the `B' scoring final. While the time did not quite match up to her school-record 22.14 posted during the prelims of the event at the Big Ten Championships, Reynolds' place in the field was a 14-spot improvement over her 36th-place finish at the 2012 NCAA meet.
Reynolds has one more event to go this weekend when she takes to the water again in the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday. Her prelim swim is the second scheduled event after the 200 back, meaning she'll hit the water around 10:30 a.m. CT/11:30 a.m. ET. Reynolds finished in a dead heat for second place in the 100 free at the 2013 Big Ten Championships to earn an All-Big Ten honor.
