
Day Two Complete at NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS -- Northwestern took to the pool for four individual swims and one relay Friday night at the NCAA Championships, though NU was unable to score any points during the second day of the meet in Minneapolis, Minn.
In the day's first individual event, freshman Kassia Shishkoff (Raleigh, N.C./St. David's School) earned a 39th-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.16.
Junior Katie Braun (Edina, Minn./Edina), competing in her first NCAA Championships meet, then swam in the 100 fly, taking 35th with a time of 54.93.
The Wildcats' top individual finish of Friday came from junior Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood), who swam to a 24th-place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.72. Freshman Emily Wong also participated, swimming a 1:49.89.
In the 800 free relay, the Wildcats swam a 7:19.54 to finish 19th. Hupman, Wong, Jenn Kocsis (Omaha, Neb./Marian) and Shishkoff comprised the relay.
Northwestern returns to the pool tomorrow, Saturday, March 10, with four individual swims and the 400 free relay on the final day of the NCAA Championships.
