
Wildcats Fall to No. 13 Pepperdine, 6-1

EVANSTON, Ill. - In their first competition in almost three weeks, the Northwestern men's tennis team fell at No. 13 Pepperdine (12-2) Wednesday afternoon by a score of 6-1.
The Waves took the doubles point and five of six singles matches to earn their sixth-straight victory.
Northwestern drops to 6-8 overall and remains at 1-2 in the Big Ten.
The Wildcats' Willy Lock (Lima, Peru/Markham College) continued his scorching play with a win at No. 4 singles. Lock has won six of his last eight matches and holds a team-best 17-7 overall record and 11-3 dual mark.
Head Coach Paul Torricelli shook up his doubles lineup a bit, putting Lock with sophomore Christian Tempke (Wentorf, Germany/Lohbrugge) for the first time this year. The duo got off to a flying start with an 8-4 win at No. 3.
Junior Adam Schaechterle (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) and senior Justin Hoeveler (Ross, Calif./The Branson School) played together at No. 2, barely falling to Berg and Lovrak, 9-7.
