SUMMARY: The Northwestern men's soccer team dropped a back and forth game at Lakeside Field Friday afternoon to Northern Illinois by a score of 3-2.
Scoring for the Wildcats were seniors Brandon Swalve (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) and Yun Kim (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier). Swalve's goal came in the 12th minute of play when he headed in a free kick from Paul Van Huysen (Portage, Mich./Monsignor Hackett) to put the `Cats up 1-0.
1-0 was the score at halftime but it didn't take Northern to long to find their first point in the second half. Dan Parlsi hit a curling shot from the top of the box to tie the game at 1-1 just one minute into the second half. The Huskies came right back seven minutes later when Alex D'Orsi knocked in a loose ball in front of the goal to make the score 2-1.
Northwestern tied the game when Kim took a tough angle shot that shot that scooted underneath goalkeeper, Basih Pala hands.
Peter Agrimson put Northern ahead for good when he chipped keeper Chris Berlin (West Lafayette, Ind./West Lafayette) in the 75th minute of play making the score 3-2.
