Northwestern Wrestling Picks Up Third Win of Season

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern wrestling team improved its dual record to 3-4-1 with a 24-17 win over Northern Illinois. John Giacche (Flemington, N.J./Blair Academy) started the meet with a 12-6 decision over Twan Pham at 133. Scott Schatzman (Chesterfield, Mo./Parkway Central) improved his overall record to 17-2 with a technical fall victory over J.C. Gaunt at 141.
Northern Illinois evened the score at 14 apiece when Matt Huebner (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) earned a 10-2 major decision over Jason Nape to put NU up for good. Josh Saul (Corena Del Mar, Calif./Calvary Chapel) followed with a pin at heavyweight giving NU a 24 -14 lead.
Northwestern is next in action Sunday, January 16 at Eastern Illinois.
