Study Skills Program

 

All entering first-year student-athletes are required to participate in the Study Skills program, which includes tutoring services, study skills sessions and core advising. It is designed to help student-athletes develop consistent study habits essential to academic success at Northwestern. Upper-class student-athletes can also take advantage of the tutoring services.

First-year student-athletes are required to make the following time commitment:


Study Skills hours can be earned in Walter Athletics Center Academic Suite 3100A Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. as well as at the main University library on campus, Sunday-Thursday, 6 p.m.-10 p.m.


Additional ways to earn credit toward the weekly requirement:

  • Credit is given for tutoring obtained outside the Study Skills program through other university tutoring programs. In order to be compensated for the hours earned outside of the Study Skills program, student-athletes will need to complete and submit a Departmental Tutoring/Review for Credit Form
